WHAT IS A DIETITIAN?
A Registered Dietitian is a regulated healthcare professional and is considered the expert in nutrition. Dietitians require 4+ years of schooling and ongoing learning throughout their career. They are also required to maintain provincial college registration to ensure public safety and accurate education.
When receiving nutrition counselling services - make sure to check if your provider is regulated. In Alberta to check if your nutrition practitioner is registered you can search up their registration number from the College of Dietitians of Alberta.Â
You are ENCOURAGED to question how/if your care providers are qualified to offer you expert care.
WILL MY HEALTH INSURANCE PAY FOR DIETITIAN SERVICES?
A number of health care plans will cover Dietitian services when provided by a regulated health professional. Call your provider and ask about your specific coverage options

DO YOU PROVIDE TEAM/GROUP NUTRITION COUNSELLING AND EDUCATION?
We are happy to offer team and group nutrition education! This could be provided to sports teams for specific events, or general nutrition to your personal running group. We are happy to accommodate specific nutrition education - or just general advice.
